A major component of this workshop will be processing and finalizing our images including noise reduction techniques and how to create printable high-quality star photographs.

What to expect:
A full weekend adventure, two days and nights shooting in the wee hours. Students in this Astrophotography Workshop will become night owls for a few days as we explore hidden beauty in the night sky. Our adventures will take us to the darkest parts of the area and beaches to photograph the heavens above. This will include the Milky Way, Star Trails, Time Lapse Photography, reflections and much, much more! As a bonus(and when possible), we will be photographing sunrise or sunset as a prelude to the nights astrophotography. Here, you’ll put your ND filters to work as we explore the world of Long Exposure Photography!

Topics we will cover:

  • How to focus in the dark

  • Advanced composition and compositional elements.

  • How to adjust for light noise and properly expose the Milky Way

  • Using ND Filters for Long Exposures

  • Star Trails & Time Lapse Photography

  • Maximizing low noise techniques

  • Lightroom & Photoshop(advanced techniques will be touched on as needed)

Enrollment is limited to 6, so you will receive individual attention to address your particular needs. You’ll learn essential skills throughout the weekend that will enhance your image making in the future.
