For three full days, we will travel up and down the Outer Banks together, shooting some of the most beautiful locations the area has to offer, from sunrises by the sea, to sunsets under classic piers to stargazing by an historic lighthouse. Throughout the workshop, I will be beside you to help you with composition, camera settings, filter choices, etc. We will be covering topics such as exposure, camera settings, histograms, hyper-focal distance, high dynamic range (HDR), long exposures, “seeing” in black and white, and the use of various filters.
A change is this year’s adventure is that I’ve timed the Workshop during a New Moon. During our stay, we will be exploring the magnificent night sky of the Outer Banks. Since we will be shooting during at various times during the day and night, ample time to rest will be scheduled during this Workshop.
Enrollment is limited to 10, so you will receive individual attention you need and quickly learn through direct hands-on instruction.
While we try to make sure everything is perfect for the workshop, alas we can not control the weather. But it won’t stop us from shooting. Some of the best landscape images were taken just before, during or just after rain!
Admission fees for locations will be included with your tuition.
You will be responsible for your food, lodging and transportation.
