A full two days of adventure and shooting including both sunrise and sunset golden hour locations. We will meet Friday, Oct. 13th for introductions and instructions, and a relaxed evening shoot. We will start during the golden hours of the morning and as the light changes, we will introduce other techniques needed to help you continue to photograph, sometimes even harsh midday light. We will explore the use of filters to improve upon your waterfall imagery and show you how to achieve the soft, milky water look. Hiking and light bouldering will be a part of the back country adventure!
Important: Hikes can vary in difficulty levels and can reach up to 1 mile or more. No one knows your condition and fitness level better than you. We will be in the mountain where terrain can be rocky and steep. If there any doubts, you may contact us at any time to discuss it in more detail. Your safety is always our highest priority, but accidents do happen. Helping us by being prepared will ensure you have a safe and productive trip. If there is any question, check out our individualized sessions, custom designed specifically for you.
Throughout the workshop, we will be beside you to help you with composition, camera settings, filter choices, etc. We will be discussing topics such as exposure, camera settings, histograms, hyper-focal distance, high dynamic range (HDR), long exposures, and the use of various filters.
Enrollment is limited, so you will receive ample individual attention, with not one but two qualified instructors to assist you. You’ll quickly learn through direct hands-on instruction. This is the best way to learn and remember it for your next outing.
While we try to make sure everything is perfect for the workshop, alas we can not control the weather. But it won’t stop us from shooting. Some of the best landscape images were taken just before, during or just after rain!
Admission fees for locations will be included with your tuition.
You will be responsible for your food, lodging and transportation.
